The Prime Minister, Gordon Brown, has given his support to Apprenticeship Week.
He believes they are great way for young people to learn a new skill and to show employers what they can do.
The number of people starting Apprenticeships has risen from fewer than 70,000 in 1997, to nearly a quarter of a million now. There’s a broad range of Apprenticeships available with lots of different employers, including local councils.
