Focus on graduate jobs

The recent Focus on graduate jobs survey conducted by YouGov for the Chartered
Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) found that, of the 700 graduates
in employment asked, nearly 60 per cent
were not currently working in an occupation related to their degree.

Survey highlights:

  • 58 per cent of respondents said they were unable to find work in their chosen field
  • 21 per cent their change of direction was voluntary
  • 28 per cent felt their degree was not good enough to equip them for the workplace
  • 24 per cent had chosen to pursue further study rather than enter the jobs market
