Talent is not enough: developing a career in challenging times

The first ngdp alumni conference will bring together leading players from the public sector and beyond, to discuss these questions and more, plus find out how to carve a successful career in a sector under pressure.
You will hear from:
Sir Clive Woodward, former World cup winning English rugby coach and now Director of Elite Performance for the British Olympic Association about why talent is not enough
Ben Page, Managing Director of Ipsos MORI Public Affairs and Chairman of the Ipsos MORI Social Research Institute about the future of local government- keynote address from a senior national politician (to be confirmed in June)
- senior officers, politicians and civil servants from central and local government
as well as:
- professional support from careers specialists
- an opportunity to network and debate with key speakers
- an evening dinner river cruse on the River Tyne with ngdp colleagues
all against the backdrop of the vibrant square mile of the Newcastle Quayside and Gateshead Quays.
You can also ask questions in advance for discussion points within the agenda over the two days. Dan Jackson, from Cohort 8, will act as the graduate representative for the conference. Cost: £25 per person which includes registration fees and the river cruise dinner.
Attendees will receive a £40 subsidy for accommodation on the night of Thursday 18 June.
This subsidy has been arranged directly with the hotels recommended in the Accommodation link below and will be subtracted from your bill on check-out.
