Michelle, Supervisor
Leicestershire County Council
“Before becoming employed by the council I worked as a volunteer in a local primary school, which was valuable experience. I also had some previous experience in administrative work.
As supervisor in the education post room I am responsible for ensuring the smooth running of the office and making sure all external and internal mail is distributed correctly. To get the job I needed a good general standard of education, for example literacy and numeracy skills.
Although it can be tricky juggling several tasks at the same time to meet set deadlines, I really enjoy the day-to-day variety of the work. I’ve also been on many training courses whilst working for the council.”
