Ken, Maintenance Surveyor
Leeds City Council
“My role involves carrying out repairs to council properties both before and after they have been inspected. I am also required to write up reports on computer. To do the job I needed a good knowledge of the construction industry and a City and Guilds qualification in electrical work.
Although I find the diagnostic work a challenge, I really enjoy the variety of work and have received a great deal of training whilst working for the council including customer care and health and safety. In future I hope to progress higher and gain more responsibility.”
