Katie, Administration Assistant
Kent County Council
I completed my CLAiT and ECDL qualifications, before deciding that I needed to find some way of developing my skills and gaining work based learning. I then discovered Kent Success, a scheme in which I could work four days in an office and go to college one day a week, therefore getting both the experience and a qualification (NVQ Level 2 Business Administration). I knew I needed to become more employable.
Since completing this scheme I have been working on the Kent Safe Schools project. My typical day consists of, ordering items for staff, and following these orders through, doing finance reports, answering the telephone, minute taking, some diary management and personnel, and general finance.
There are new challenges all the time, but I like how everyday is different and the wide variety of tasks.
