The third challenge: a night out in Northampton
The LGA Group, in partnership with the Local Government Channel, is looking for the next generation of top executives! The local government challenge is an exciting new competition which seeks out talented individuals and tests their ingenuity, creativity, ability to lead and potential to become top local government executives.

In the third episode of the local government challenge, the contestants are set a night time challenge in Northampton. The town is a thriving centre with a buzzing after dark scene but like many urban centres in the UK it attracts a large number of partygoers at the weekends, despite a concerted effort to promote its cultural offerings such as the famous Royal and Derngate Theatre. The task for this challenge is for the contestants to experience a Friday night out in Northampton and then come up with a strategy that will revitalise the town’s night time economy and make it a an after dark destination that will appeal to everyone, from drinkers to thinkers.
