Local Studies Supervisor

| Karen arrives at work in good time to check that all the staff have arrived. If someone has called in sick, she will make adjustments to the timetable, so that all areas of the local studies section in the library are staffed correctly. |
| 09.15 Finance |
| Karen spends some time in the morning dealing with finance. She banks the previous week’s money, transfers all relevant information to the financial management computer system, processes some invoices and updates all the accounts spreadsheets. |
| 11.00 Meeting – military historian |
| Karen meets with the local studies librarian and a local military historian to arrange for a talk to take place during the commemorations of the end of the Second World War. |
| 14.00 Focus group |
| Karen attends a focus group meeting at Manchester Central Library to discuss a new community website. This is an opportunity to meet with colleagues from other libraries and share ideas and experiences. |
| 16.00 Correspondence |
| Karen spends a short while before she goes home checking and responding to emails. |
